Covid was an expensiveexercise with New Zealand choosing to spend on saving lives, MIQ, vaccinations, Covid tests, wage subsidies to keep jobs, and shovel-ready projects to keep our economy active.
I’m satisfied that money was spent for the good of us all and our economy was touted as one of the best in the OECD along with our Covid-19 response and low mortality rates.
In addition, New Zealand would have been in surplus had we not had a series of cyclones and damaging weather events earlier this year.
