Hot off the press during Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori (Maori Language Week) is bilingual signage by Tairawhiti company ThinkSafe, shown in the picture above by ThinkSafe staffers Sally Dalrymple and Michelle Knight.
Company director Andrew Burns said te reo was an official language of New Zealand, and he
wanted that reflected by having bilingual resources for his clients.
He started the company in 2016 to offer tailor-made health and safety systems for people’s businesses that were affordable and sustainable.
It is Tairawhiti-based because that is home to Mr Burns, his wife Sophie and their two children. His vision is to support the entire country from here, so these bilingual signs will be going nationwide.
