St John ambulance in Gisborne has been operating a new Critical Care Hilux vehicle in Gisborne for a few weeks now, manned by specialist staff.

“The vehicle makes the team more readily available to attend more serious incidents, and to back up other front-line ambulance staff with specialist equipment for life-saving care,” a St John spokesperson said.

“It means they are more mobile.”
