National Party candidate for East Coast Dana Kirkpatrick cast her vote at the polling booth in Treble Court on  Monday.

She was one of 56,557 Kiwis who voted on day one of advanced voting.

That compares to 105,489 votes cast on the first day of the 2020 general election, and 39,570 votes on day one of the 2017 election.  Election day is Saturday, October 14.
