First I want to congratulate Peter Jones for his timely letter regarding the United Nations (November 22). It is scary stuff reading the Global Compact of safe and regular migration. This will mean that peoples wishing to come to your country, in this case New Zealand, will be able to enter without the agreement of the domestic population. They will recieve all the benefits needed for basic care, support with schooling, medical support, food and shelter. This will come from your tax dollar.

This is an ideologically-driven idea that will be foisted upon the world. Doesn’t that sound nonsensical? I wish it was.

How could any country sign this compact with the UN if they have any understanding of the far-reaching impact it would have on their domestic population? A few countries have said they will not sign, but not very many at this point.

It is imperative that we in New Zealand send a resounding message to this Government, and the Opposition, opposing NZ signing this agreement. We have until December 10/11 when it is set to be formally adopted by UN member states. Not very long.
