The St John ambulance team who will care for the R&V festival-goers over the next few days have set up their medical centre on site and it will become operational at midday today.

The professional and volunteer officers at R&V helped about 1000 people, with a range of different ailments, at last year’s event.

Area operations manager Shane Clapperton said they have brought in around 20 St John officers from outside the district — Auckland to Wellington and everywhere in between.

“There will be up to 30 personnel on site at the peak times of the festival,” he said.

“We are looking forward to supporting the 21st year of Rhythm and Vines”.
