Rangatahi-created content that focuses on Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is in today’s edition of the Loose Leaf zine.
Loose Leaf is a zine, which is short for magazine, that was started in 2021 by Henarata Pishief.
Today’s edition includes art, photography, writing and general creativityby a group of rangatahi in Te Tairāwhiti that celebrate different aspects of te reo Māori.
The aim is to spread their work and create an appreciation of it to a broader audience.
“I think that it is incredibly important to create spaces for rangatahi to be able to freely express themselves and encourage them to keep doing so. That is what I’ve aimed to create with Loose Leaf,” said editor Henarata.
This iteration of the zine has been worked on by a large group of rangatahi, whose names are listed on the back of the zine.
