Longboard stolen from outside tent

O’Shea Mead-Cadore was enjoying his Easter holiday at Waikanae Holiday Park until his skating longboard was stolen on Sunday night from outside his tent.

“I was staying there to be closer to the surf and also I like carving it up on the pavements on my longboard.

"It’s a good mode of transport.”

He bought the board, a kicktail longboard two years ago for $350.

He received a lot of comments after posting on social media that it had been stolen.

He hopes someone will recognise the board, as it has couple of distinctive homemade stickers on it — one a yin and yang symbol and the other a yellow Amnesty sticker. The board is cream with streaks of brown and has yellow wheels.

He reported it to the campground office but did not inform police.

The Gisborne man is a keen skater and surfer and is still hopeful he will get the board back.
