The Knauf family at Whakaki sold almost all their young R2 bulls on Tuesday in their on-farm auction. It has been described as another strong sale, just one away from a total clearance, as the bull sales season gathers momentum in Tairawhiti. Hereford and then the Angus breeders here take their turn next month. Picture supplied
Kerrah Simmentals from Whakaki kept the bull sales season success going in the region on Tuesday when they achieved an almost total clearance in their on-farm auction.
The Knauf family put up 73 rising two-year-old bulls
and sold 72 of them at auction.
Their sale followed hard on the heels
of Monday’s sale at Gold Creek Simmentals at Te Karaka where the Sanson family sold almost all their lineup as well.
The Kerrah Simmentals average sale price was just over $8200 and studmaster Jon Knauf said that was about on a par with what they normally achieve.
