I read of councillor concern that “GHL’s dominant asset is being lined up to be sold”.

This is not a new plan, as our community has watched assets being sold off by sell-off types meant to represent us before. National and local representatives have a pattern of doing this at the expense of ordinary people.

Thankfully we have people like Colin Alder on council to keep our “community-first” voice heard. Thank you, Colin. Keep speaking up for those of us who are not as assertive as yourself. We admire what you do and need more bold voices that represent us.

Bold voices are making bold promises as we near election time, but we should not be seduced by seductive politicians.

We are alluring to them because of our vote. Therefore, exercise the democratic right but don’t waste it on the sexiest candidate or the most rhetorical political party.

Tairāwhiti communities know their needs and we need these met with action, not hypnotic wooing.
