Tell me, why is it that anyone would think it was a good idea to block off Hinaki Street, Wildish Street and Craig Road at their Rutene Road exits, for the sake of the proposed dual cycleway?

Hinaki and Wildish Streets already have Give Way signs and Craig Road a compulsory Stop! It would be “overkill” to close them completely for the sake of the few cyclists using the cycleway, compared with the large number of motorists who use those roads.

Leaving those exits as they are and adding “cyclist aware” signage and road markings would be sufficient. Closing those roads would also limit easy access to the affected areas by emergency services.
