A metservice heavy raining warning over the weekend did not amount to much.

The warning was in place until midday today, an expected further 30 to 50mm of rain to accumulate on top of what had already fallen, especially about the ranges. Peak intensities of 15 to 25mm per hour were possible.

The largest rainfall totals for the past 48 hours from 8am on Saturday morning to 8am this morning have been recorded at Hicks Bay 134mm, Oweka 118mm, just north of Mount Hikurangi 116mm, Te Araroa 114mm, Puketoro 86mm, East Cape 74mm, Arowhana 72mm and Matawai 71mm.
