Opinion

Norman Maclean’s inquisition of Iain Boyle’s recent letter was bemusing, to say the least!

With the patience of a saint, Iain replied to all the questions. However, some of Norman’s assertions need further elucidation.

He refers to the “tiresome frequency” of Iain’s “attempts to persuade this district to reject the present Government”. Believe me, most of us don’t need any persuasion on that front! I personally enjoy reading Iain Boyle’s contributions to TGH opinion page and consider him one of the best contributors.

And “tiresome frequency” brings to my mind only another contributor whose doom-and-gloom climate change pieces bore the hell out of me. You see, I didn’t even have to name any names!

Norman’s question “Exactly when — time and date please — did this Government ‘claim to be the only source of truth’ as he insists?” made me laugh. He must have been the only one missing the then-PM Jacinda Ardern’s “We will continue to be your single source of truth” claim, as the following clip of her went viral globally as a fine example of a tyrannical outburst:

Maybe Norman missed it because he was more worried about the tyrant’s wellbeing than the rest of us suffering her bizarre, whimsical rules and regulations:

Another one of then-PM Ardern’s utterances that went global was her creation of a two-tier society:

See the glee and hand-rubbing of a true sociopath.

And let’s not forget her broken promises in that regard either, going from “No need for sanctions for the unvaccinated”, to a two-tier society:

And no Norman, “the entire world” was not “in awe of how rapidly and effectively our attempts were made to contain the virus, triggered by the Government under Jacinda Ardern?”

She made NZ a laughing stock globally, at the same time ruining this country economically and otherwise with lockdown policies imported straight from the Chinese Communist Party. I would call her the Dame of Destruction or DoD!

Regarding “containing the virus”, yeah right! In the same week Jacinda Ardern got her damehood there were 12,028 new cases and 59 further deaths.
