As we look forward a week to (hopefully) coming out of lockdown, as a region and community we should give thanks to our Gisborne Herald for continuing to keep us informed on what is happening not just in our region but across the world.

At a time when the “fourth estate”, and print media in particular, is in a critical state, we can be thankful to our own family-run Gisborne Herald. I rely on the digital subscription which I can access from anywhere (currently my home office). We all need to continue to support The Gisborne Herald, as it's another one of our own “essential businesses”.

Be safe, keep well and be kind. We will get through this.
