With temperatures soaring into the high 20s yesterday, Woolworths shoppers were left unable to buy iceblocks or chilled items due to a technical glitch.

“Unfortunately, the refrigerators at our Gisborne store have temporarily broken down due to a blockage,” a Woolworths spokesperson said.

“The store team is working hard to save as much stock as possible with chilled trucks on site to help with this. We also have a tech specialist on site getting the refrigerators up and running again as soon as possible.

“While we work to get this issue fixed, customers won’t be able to access the frozen/chilled section or purchase these products.

“We thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we solve this issue.”
