GISBORNE children were treated to a performance yesterday by The Travelling Tuataras as part of the ECRead’N Winter Warmers series at the H.B. Williams Memorial Library. Rotorua entertainers Jill Walker and Brian Potiki brought stories to life through music and interactive storytelling.
“It was busy and very loud but that
was all part of the fun,” said librarian Rangi Tangohau.
The series is taking The Travelling Tuataras to 28 libraries around the lower North Island. They have now gone south to Napier, Taradale, the Wairarapa, Horowhenua and Manawatu, and they finish the tour back in Martinborough, said performer Jill Walker.
“Our first performance was great. There were about 100 children of all ages, and their parents and grandparents too,” Mrs Walker said.
