Congratulations to the organisers and supporters of the Ruatoria Christmas Parade and Tikitiki Carols in the Park — two more wonderful events for East Coast communities that took place over the weekend.
It is a sad fact that many children on the Coast have few opportunities to experience these kinds
of events that bring us all together. Of course our children have lots of opportunities city kids miss out on, but Christmas is a special times for our whanau to come together and celebrate with our families. Thanks to the folks from Gisborne who travelled up to support us in Ruatoria and Tikitiki.
Please whanau, look after each other these holidays — go easy on the grog and have heaps of fun outdoors. We live in a beautiful, safe part of the world and take it for granted too often.
