A woman has been charged with drink-driving after a car left Aberdeen Rd and hit a large roadside tree on Tuesday night, police said.

The incident occurred at the city end of Aberdeen Rd/ at around 11.20pm.

The Ford sedan reportedly lost control, narrowly avoiding the frontage of a house before veering back and hitting the tree with the car’s front right corner.

The damaged vehicle remained in place, completely blocking the footpath yesterday, up against the front fence of a property. Photo / Murray Robertson
