Gisborne has the dubious honour of most visits in New Zealand to a global porn site.

Leading pornography website giant Pornhub has released new figures on New Zealand usage revealing their videos are most popular in Gisborne.

Viewers in Gisborne watched the porn site for longer periods than users in any other region with an average visit of 11 minutes and 16 seconds — or 46 seconds longer than the national average.

Tasman viewers were online just three seconds less than their Gisborne counterparts.

Dunedin users spent the least time online with an average time of 9 minutes and 59 seconds per visit, or 31 seconds less than the national average.

Gay or straight porn made no difference, Gisborne came out on top again.

Local residents watch 36 percent more gay porn than the average New Zealander, according to Pornhub.

That was way ahead of second-ranked Tasman where viewers watched only 8 percent more gay porn than the average Kiwi viewer.

Pornhub said 66 percent of New Zealand viewers prefered a laptop or desktop experience, but 80 percent of their overall viewers watched on mobile devices.
