There was one Lotto Division 1 winner, collecting $1 million.

Powerboats all go, speedway off
The Thunder in the Bay round of the New Zealand Offshore Powerboat series in Gisborne on Saturday is all go at this stage.
“We are closely watching the weather,” event spokeswoman Molly-Kaye Lankshear said. “It’s not cancelled yet and still going ahead, but we are looking at moving the first race forward to 11am and just doing one 45-minute race instead of two.”
Eight boats had been confirmed as of today. The boats will be on display at the inner harbour boat ramp at a time yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Gisborne Speedway Club’s meeting scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled because of low entry numbers and the unfavourable weather forecast.
The Phil Walsh Memorial and Bruce Ellmers Memorial saloon car events will now be held as part of the club’s two-night meeting on February 27-28.
Motorcycle safety gear plea
Following recent crashes in the Eastern District, which includes Tairāwhiti, police are urging motorcyclists ensure they are wearing appropriate safety gear before going for a ride.
“We are seeing more instances where riders are not wearing the correct protective equipment, including a helmet,” police said.
“No police officer wants to knock on somebody’s door to tell them their loved one has been seriously injured or killed, so we’re asking riders to take all the necessary steps to ensure their safety.
“Ensure your safety gear, including your helmet, is properly fitted. This could be the difference between walking away from an accident or not.
“If you’re riding with friends, ensure everyone is riding safely and has all the correct equipment on before you go.
“Dangerous behaviour on the road that can be seen as ‘fun’ can have serious consequences.”
