It's way past time for this Government to get tough on the increasing violent crime in this country. This weekend a dairy worker is once again attacked and loses fingers to a machete-wielding scumbag.
Labour seems to be able to change laws pretty quickly when they want to, so let's
change the law for criminals who use weapons in any criminal act. You take a weapon to any crime then it's an instant five-year prison term; you injure anyone with that weapon then that's an instant minimum 10 years in prison. Let's make a life sentence mean life.
Instruct the police commissioner to make these crimes priority No.1 and maybe stop harassing the average motorist going a few kilometres over the speed limit.
Let's have compassion, understanding and empathy for the victims, not the criminals.
