Funnel cloud forms over hills northwest of Gisborne

This funnel cloud was seen over the hills to the northwest of Gisborne at the weekend, and lasted for several minutes. Funnel clouds are formed by rotating air movements, which pull down a moisture-laden column from the bottom of a cloud mass.
