The Waikanae Beach Top 10 Holiday Park have had their biggest days of the season to date this week.

Camp staff said there was little space left for campers on Tuesday night, then the “no vacancies” sign went up for the first time this summer on Wednesday night.

The holiday park was full again for camping space last night.

“We will have a few rooms available in our roofed accommodation, but the camping spaces are full until next week,” a camp spokeswoman said.

The campground is owned by Gisborne Holdings Ltd and general manager commercial operations Jeremy Raymond said the summer period had been busy.

“The December and January numbers through the holiday park were similar to last year,” he said.

“We still have space available later in January.

“But with good weather we expect this to fill up and for it to be better than last January, which was affected by the rain.”
