With the second season of Frocks on Friday coming to an end this week, “frockstars” are getting ready to dress up for the finale event — the Frock It All Ball.
The theme of the sold-out event is in the typical #FrocksonFriday style of “whatever you like!” . . . from glam, disco vibes, retro, shabby chic to beach frock and jandals.
Frockstars are encouraged to hit the op shops, the frock swap rack at Tairāwhiti Environment Centre, dig deep in their own wardrobe, swap with friends or treat themselves to something new.
The Frocks on Friday ball is being held at The Dome on Saturday night.
The night will include raffles and auctions to continue the quest to raise funds for #Hear4u — a charitable trust committed to supporting men’s mental health and suicide prevention.
Spot prizes will be won on the night, there will be a Dome pizza supper and music from The Band With No Name for frockstars to dance the night away.
Frock-wearing members of the Gisborne community band together from November to March to empower themselves, meet new people, make connections, embrace and support the kaupapa of mental health awareness and fundraise for the Tairāwhiti-based Hear4U.
“All proceeds we have raised from season two will be tallied up and presented to #Hear4u within the first two weeks in March,” Frocks on Friday founder Jo McLean said.
