Police are waiting for  forensic analysis to be completed before making any decision on laying further charges against two men arrested in relation to the deaths of Kane Te Paa and Chrysler Stevens-Mark.

The men died of stab wounds sustained during a fight that broke out at the 21st birthday party for Mr Stevens-Mark at a house in Lytton Road on March 23.

Detective Inspector Dave de Lange, who is heading the homicide inquiry into the men’s deaths, said the investigation continued.

Police have spoken to those who were at the party on Lytton Road where Mr Te Paa (also known as Kane Taare-Gray) and Mr Stevens-Mark were killed.

“The investigation team is in the process of reviewing all witness statements,” Det Insp de Lange said in an update yesterday.

“Forensic analysis of all items gathered during the investigation, including a knife located at the scene, is ongoing.

“A decision on further charges will be made once the forensic analysis has been completed and all other information has been assessed.”

Two men charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the incident remain remanded in custody.
