Voters and A&P Show-goers alike should be pleased the weather outlook for Gisborne is good for tomorrow and Saturday.

Both the election and gate figures of the Show rely on clear weather for the best turnout, as has been shown from the figures of past years.

It has also been claimed that some political parties’ voter turnout is more susceptible to the state of the weather.

Despite the volatility of spring and unfavourable forecasts for other districts, MetService’s forecast for Gisborne has no bad news on the horizon.

For Friday, MetService is forecasting fine, sunny weather with northerlies and a high of 22 degrees.

The official weather agency says Gisborne residents can expect Saturday to be fine, becoming cloudy later, with fresh north-westerlies easing and a high of 22  degrees.

The next rain is not until Tuesday and Wednesday, when showers are expected with a shift from north-westerlies to southerlies.

A check on the severe weather outlook shows nothing serious on the immediate horizon.

Meanwhile, the major American climate agencies say El Nino continues and now say there is a 95 percent chance the pattern will continue to the end of March next year.
