Opinion

My congratulations to Tanith Wirihana Te Waitohioterangi, for his interesting letter outlining events that occurred at Ngatapa and the references to more information available. I have a degree of sympathy, as my forbears were treated poorly by Oliver Cromwell at Drogheda in Ireland. This occurred around September 11, 1649 and of course was a long time ago, in vastly different times. Details of this can be freely found on the internet, under “Drogheda Massacre”.
