Whāngārā Farms has announced the appointment of Anthony Creswell as its first CEO.

The appointment underscores the company’s commitment to growth in New Zealand agribusiness, says board chair Ingrid Collins.

Mr Creswell has extensive experience across the agribusiness supply chain from farming, processing and sales to marketing and animal genetics.

“In this new role, Anthony brings a fresh perspective and a vision for the future,” Mrs Collins said.

“His commitment to innovation, growth, and excellence aligns perfectly with Whāngārā Farms values and objectives.

“We are very excited to bring in an individual with such extensive leadership and management experience throughout all levels of the sheep and beef industry.

“Anthony has demonstrated throughout his career his expertise in the successful development and delivery of business strategy, especially in business transformation and progression.

“(This is) something Whāngārā Farms has always strived to embrace and continues to do, not only in its core sheep and beef business, but also in its ambitions in the business diversification space”.

Mr Creswell  has  a strong connection to Whāngārā Farms.

“My father was the farm manager at Pakarae Station from 1974 to 2000 and my grandfather was the Whāngārā Farms supervisor from 1948 to 1964. I am also a shareholder of Whāngārā Farms, in Tapuwae Whitiwhiti Incorporation.

“I am honoured to join Whāngārā Farms, working with our talented board and skilled team to drive innovation and create sustainable value for our shareholders,” he said.

“A crucial challenge in our pastoral farming industry is balancing environmental stewardship, sustainable practices, and economic viability.

“I am deeply committed to creating opportunities for individuals and communities to grow and develop.”

Mr Creswell’s appointment became effective on February 1. He had already served a short tenure with Whāngārā Farms as transitional manager.
