A fire crew was called to a restaurant at the western end of Gladstone Road yesterday afternoon in response to a small fire in the kitchen.
Fire and Emergency NZ were called to the premises at around 4.45pm.
“It was a pot-on-the-stove-type incident,” a senior firefighter said.
“It was only
a minor incident and the small fire was pretty much out by the time we got there.”
The fire crew who attended helped ventilate the restaurant to remove the smoke build up.
