A ewe body condition scoring and feed performance workshop will be held at Papatu Station at Manutūkē next week by Beef + Lamb NZ. File picture

Beef + Lamb NZ will stage a Ewe Body Condition Score and Performance Feeding Workshop in Gisborne next week.

It will be on Thursday February 29, from 1pm to 4pm at Papatu Station, 479 Papatu Road, Manutūkē.

“This workshop will help sheep and beef farmers to better manage feed supply and demand, increase feed utilisation and enhance the value of the feed consumed,” said senior extension manager Mark Harris.

“We have incorporated a ewe body condition scoring session into this workshop with a particular focus on ensuring our ewes are in optimal condition heading into mating.”

• Financial benefits of condition scoring ewes at weaning.

• The value of prioritising winter feed.

• Learning how to split mob approach (based on ewe condition) will utilise your winter feed most efficiently.

• Feed priorities and practical tips.

• Ewe body condition scoring made easy.

The workshop will be facilitated by Mr Harris and Greg Tattersfield from FarmPro Limited.

Numbers are limited, so registrations are essential.
