Ulysses Motorcycle Club of NZ members passed through Gisborne last week as part of a nationwide baton relay to raise money for victims of Cyclone Gabrielle.
From November 5 to 19, hundreds of bikers travelled the length and breadth of New Zealand, visiting towns and cities from Invercargill to thefar north before returning to Rotorua.
Their mission was to bring some financial relief to those hardest hit by the cyclone.
The two-week event wrapped up on Sunday in Ngongotaha.
National organiser Leigh-Ann Crane said the ride had been “epic” and had so far raised $20,000.
“We felt this was a good opportunity to remind people that there is still a lot of devastation out there and there is still a lot that needs to be sorted.”
A total of 25 Ulysses branches nationwide took part across the 4200km ride.
Donations can still be banked directly to the BNZ account 02-0412-0032076-01.
