American producer Jon Kroll will take the Screen Accelerator programme in Wellington which helps producers pitch their ideas to global buyers.

Calling all aspiring Gisborne television producers ... the Screen Accelerator Project in Wellington is now open for registration.

Screen Accelerator Project, in its fifth year, aims to help bring productions into New Zealand, create opportunities and build international connections.

“We are appealing to screen producers, from emergent through to seasoned professionals, from across Aotearoa New Zealand,” says Melissa Conway of Tall Poppy Films.

“It’s important the regions are represented, so I want to get the word out.

“We have been delivering New Zealand pitches to global buyers and developing our producing talent for four years now and it is always great to see a new line-up of talent taking part in the programme.”

Emmy-award winning Hollywood producer Jon Kroll will work with producers to develop their ideas for unscripted content – specifically documentaries, docu-drama series or formatted TV shows, so they can pitch to genuine global buyers.

Kroll is an American producer, director and writer who won an Emmy (television) award for The Amazing Race in 2004.

Only 15 places are available, so people need to apply now.
