Final results from the October 8 local body election show Rehette Stoltz was elected Mayor with 8009 votes, followed by Colin Alder on 2943, Rhonda Tibble on 2583 and Darin Brown on 969.
In the general ward Josh Wharehinga was the highest polling candidate, elected with 1921 votes, followed by
Colin Alder (1639 votes), Larry Foster (1184 votes) Rob Telfer (1169), Andy Cranston (1201), Debbie Gregory (1162 votes), Tony Robinson (1170 votes) and Teddy Thompson (1069).
Successful Māori ward candidates were Rhonda Tibble (844), Aubrey Ria (602), Nick Tupara (618), Ani Pahuru-Huriwai (578) and Rawinia Parata (568).
