Despite having an out-of-region day for scheduled maintenance, the Trust Tairāwhiti Eastland Rescue Helicopter successfully completed eight missions in the week from Monday, April 15 —  six in the first couple of days of the week.

April 15, 4.51am – The helicopter crew responded to a trauma at Wairoa where their on-board critical care flight paramedic stabilised the patient who was flown in serious condition to Dannevirke, then  transferred to Wellington Hospital.

12 noon – The  chopper flew to a medical event at Wairoa where its paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was transported in stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.

8.27pm – The chopper was called to a motor vehicle accident at Tikitiki where the paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.

April 16, 11am – The chopper responded to a medical event at Te Puia Springs where the paramedic stabilised the patient, who was flown in serious condition to Gisborne Hospital.

3.30pm – The chopper was dispatched to a medical event at Kaweka Forest Park where the paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in stable condition to Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Hastings.

2024, 8pm – The chopper was called to a medical event in Te Araroa where the paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.

April 17, 2024, 2pm – The chopper responded to a trauma at Te Araroa where the paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in stable condition to Gisborne Hospital.

April 18, 2024, 5.29am – The chopper attended a motor vehicle accident at Waipiro Bay where the paramedic assessed and treated the patient, who was flown in serious condition to Gisborne Hospital.
