Eastland Port had 10 log ships come calling for cargo last month and they took away 228,000 tonnes of export logs.

There were no coastal or reefer ships alongside the wharf last month. “Daily intake of logs into the port averaged around 9500 tonnes,” a port official said.

“But the weather at the end of the month saw this drop well below the average.”

The port shipping schedule shows nine log ships booked to call here this month, the first of them the IVS Thanda on Friday.
