An open day at the property of this year’s East Coast Ballance Farm Environment Awards Supreme Winners will be held on Tuesday, April 16.

The winners were Simon and Josi Beamish and Hugo and Pip Beamish of Awapai, a grazing and finishing farm which runs abut 5500 breeding ewes, 3600 trade lambs, 850 beef cattle, 300 bulls and 300 Wagyu beef cattle. The 2000ha property is 50km west of Hastings, bounded by the Ngaruroro River and the Kaweka Ranges.

The open day starts at the Awapai Woolshed, 1175 Whanawhana Road, Whanawhana, Hastings, at 9am.  Attendees are invited to “come along to see and hear about how the Beamish family operate their business”.  All vehicles and footwear must be clean. Side by sides/quad bikes/motorbikes only and no passengers on quad bikes. Helmets must be worn by all attendees.
