Police are following strong lines of inquiry in their investigation into a burglary at the Makaraka Store early yesterday morning.

The intruders broke into the store through the front door, activating alarms, at around 1.30am.

“They took a range of products from inside the shop before leaving in a silver coloured Subaru Forester stationwagon,” said Detective Sergeant Brent Griffiths.

“The vehicle used in the burglary was stolen from an address in Whataupoko earlier in the night.”

Det Sgt Griffiths said police were were looking for four offenders.

“They were heavily disguised and armed with weapons when they entered the store,” he said.

“We are following strong lines of inquiry in relation to this matter.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a silver/grey coloured Subaru Forester in and around the city between 8pm Tuesday night and the time of the burglary at around 1.30am Wednesday morning.
