The dogs responsible for mauling sheep earlier this week have been destroyed.

Gisborne District Council animal control team leader Ross Hannam said a number of sheep were injured or killed after being attacked by dogs on a farm around Kaiti this week.

“The farmer is working with the dogs’ owner, who has been cooperative.

“We have found all the dogs involved and they have been euthanised.”
