Australian composer and didgeridoo virtuoso William Barton joined the Brodsky Quartet, from the UK, on stage at the War Memorial Theatre last night in the first stop on their New Zealand tour, Barton & Brodsky. But in the morning he was at the theatre for a workshop with local school children, sharing his musical knowledge and insights. He played pieces for the children, and also talked about how indigenous narratives and practices have informed his artistic process.
