A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

A police inquiry continues into the “unexplained” death of a man at an address on Kaiwaitau Road in Mahia on Thursday last week.

Police were called to the home at around 12.25pm that day.

“At this time the death is being treated as unexplained,” said Detective Inspector Martin James.

“A scene examination has been completed and a post-mortem examination was conducted at the weekend to determine the cause of death.”

The outcome of that post-mortem has not yet been released.
