EASTLAND Port workers will have Christmas Day off with their families with loading work suspended for the big day.
The next scheduled log ship, the Inland Sea, is due.
“The ship will be loaded through until Christmas Eve, and then loading will cease over Christmas Day, to recommence loading on
Boxing Day,” a port spokesperson said.
“The next log ship, the African Egret, is due to arrive on January 5 and will finish loading three days later.”
The first squash shipment to leave Gisborne by sea is scheduled for mid-January, with the freighter Kowhai due on January 18.
