A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

In virtually all myths, there’s a reluctant hero who, when faced with a life or death challenge, goes in search of a saviour, only to find in the end that he is the one — that the force to overcome the challenge is within himself, and that he must rise up and face the challenge himself.

We’re at that point right now.

My prediction is that we haven’t quite reached the fiery crescendo yet so, my prediction is it will get worse before it gets better.

In the end, this is the human story. We are the David against the Goliath. The Goliath is incredibly powerful but will be defeated.

But it requires us to do the one thing that we’re all afraid to do right now, and that is to stand up and speak out . . .
