Saina Fili-Weti and her staff at CK and Co showed their support for suicide awareness with a ‘‘cutathon” fundraiser at the Derby Street-based hairdressers.

Ms Fili-Weti said she wanted to follow the example of the tattoo business Ruu.Bee Ink, which ran similar fundraising schemes for suicide awareness earlier in the year.

The tragedy of suicide was too common and the community needed to talk about it more, she said.
