Three people are in Gisborne Hospital with Covid-19.

A Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti spokeswoman said cases were trending up with a daily average of 17. There were between six and 30 cases this past week.

The Ministry of Health’s latest figures, dated midnight April 9, report a total of 30 Gisborne deaths from Covid-19. There were 121 active cases and 128 cases reported in the previous week.

Te Whatu Ora continues to advise people feeling sick to stay home and test themselves. If the test is positive, isolate for seven days, and report results to allow tracking of the virus.

■ There are vaccination events tomorrow in Manutuke, Whatatutu and Uawa.

Flu, Covid-19, MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), whooping cough, and all routine childhood immunisations will be available at these events.

The vaccination and RAT collection centre at 295 Palmerston Road is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm, for free RATs, masks and vaccinations.

The Takatu Hub team are available to provide manaaki support from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, on 0800 TAKATU.
