Opinion

In response to Merv Goodley (Road is No.1 priority, December 16 letter) — I have been to “Gizzy” and I have seen the damage, but I have also seen the engineers’ reports and spoken with the local council and Government Ministers about the line. I am also well affiliated with Gillian Ward and the Gisborne Rail Action Group who do a great job for the people of Gisborne.

I have already given my opinions in my previous letter, so I will not repeat them again, but I find it a pity that there are citizens blinded by costs — some even not that much — with little understanding of value who, I believe, do a disservice to their own community.
