The police inquiry into the “unexplained” death of a Mahia man in early July has now been put in the hands of the Coroner.

He was found deceased at an address on Kaiwaitau Road in Mahia on Thursday, July 6, after police were called to the home at around 12.25pm that day.

Police began an inquiry and described it as an “unexplained death.”

In a short statement released on Monday, police said the matter was being referred to the Coroner.

“Police are now conducting inquiries on behalf of the Coroner.
