Re Unkempt, not inviting — November 11 letter.

I completely agree with Kim Pittar about the state of our CBD and have written in with the same complaint.

I also thought how nice for cruise ships to come here, but not now. To be perfectly blunt, our CBD is an embarrassment.

Yes, the planters are looking lovely, but that’s just a bandage to distract from the dirty pavers and the state of the businesses.

Come on council, pull finger and enforce the owners of empty shops to maintain them and keep the windows clean. The state of shop windows is disgusting.

I used to love going into town but not now — it is definitely time to have some sort of upgrade.

I look at the state of other cities’ CBDs that are very inviting and where so much pride is shown, but not here — just a huge let down. We don’t have the Christmas spirit either but that’s another story.
