In an ever-growing world of technology it astounds me just how fast our communication is deteriorating.

It appears to me that as technology increases, our communication skills decrease.

What happened to the days when we called to make plans with our friends or waited till we saw them to tell all of our stories?

Nowadays the most common way of communicating is via Facebook or texting. Some people even resort to texting their boss when they can’t make it to work instead of a phone call.

I recently watched a video by a man named Prince Ea called ‘Can We Auto-Correct Humanity?’ It made me realise just how antisocial our generation is becoming, how we lose connection as our internet connection gets stronger and how dependent we have become on our technology that we can’t even have a conversation without abbreviation.

Studies show the attention span of the average adult today is one second lower than that of a goldfish. I am now aware of how much time I have wasted looking down at my screen and I have decided it’s time to change the way I use technology. I challenge you all to take three and a half minutes of your time to watch this video, and maybe you too will make changes to the way you use technology.
