The Olympic Pool was shut for some time yesterday after a boiler issue affected the water temperature, which had dropped to around 25 degrees over the weekend.

Aquatics Manager Campbell Macgregor said it was an “unexpected boiler issue” and it meant the pool could not open yesterday morning.

“The issue was fixed, and the pool reopened at 3pm,” he said.

The water temperature was still coming up overnight though and at 10am today it had reached 26.1 degrees, below the normal 28 degrees that regular water users there enjoy.
