Bit of a stink over Oxford Street bathrooms

KAINGA Ora housing residents left with smelly bathrooms in newly-built houses should see things fixed by the end of the week.

Kainga Ora east north island regional director Naomi Whitewood confirmed the issue was being fixed.

“We take the wellbeing of our customers seriously and will always work with them to try and resolve any concerns they have as quickly as possible.

“There has been an issue with four of the new public homes in Oxford Street that were completed in November last year.

“An issue with the shower installations has meant our customers have had smelly bathrooms.

“Now that we are aware of the problem our build partner is rectifying each situation immediately.

“The work will be fully completed this week.

“The homes are safe and no tenants have had to move out of their home for this work to be done.”
